The Grassroots Entrepreneurs for Ecotourism (GREET) program was envisioned to serve as an effective economic tool to promote closer fellowship between practitioners, specialists and social volunteers in the field of environment, culture and natural resources.

GREET’s guiding principles on ecotourism initiatives are: empowering local communities through supplemental and alternative livelihood, promoting environmental education, instilling conservation consciousness and encouraging shared responsibility in the management of historical assets and enriching the quality of visitors experience.

One of the reasons that tourism has been one of the biggest and competitive industries in many parts of the world is the value tourists place on indigenous culture and pristine attractions. It is therefore essential that development efforts for the countryside be on a sustainable basis.

We invite all of you to visit and appreciate our over thirty ecotourism sites and be an active partner in this important and critical endeavor to preserve our heritage and inherent treasures.
